LA PALMERATALLER D’ART

Our workshop, established in 1982, has an exclusive dedication towards the artistic printing. It is currently open to artists, editors and corporations, to whom we offer our experience and collaboration to carry out projects of original and/or digital edition, and all types of requests.

We work with serialized and limited works of art, because we believe they are the closest version of art to everyone.

The screenprints are made together with the artists to assure the maximum quality and success of the project.

The screenprinting is a printing technique based on the stencil process, that stamps images or documents through a tensed mesh on a frame.

The passing of the ink through the mesh (screen) is blocked by the execution of an emulsion (with a manual, photochemical and/or digital process of insolation) that frees and allows the ink to go through the desired and chosen areas.

The origins of the stencil process come from Middle East old civilizations; during the 1850 decade, the Japanese developed it towards what we nowadays know as screenprinting. Initially human’s hairs were used to create the mesh, and later on silk cloth replaced it.

Original screenprinting: Screenprinting edition in which the artist makes the template or screen of each colour separately, and after doing some colour tests, correcting the mistakes, and adjusting the intensity (BAT) a limited printing is made that later on the artist signs and numbers.

Later on, the screens are cleaned, recovering them for a later use.

La Palmera taller d’Art took its first steps on the world of original screenprinting in 1991, and since then we have carried out more than 200 editions with different artists.

Maculetrial screenprinting that is tests to adjust the pressure and colour in the edition process. Supports which mix screen from different artists, in a risky way but that, without having any intentioned artistic purpose, end up offering evoking and impressive images.
