Jordi Santacana

Vilanova i la Geltrú, 1965

A painter whose work lies somewhere between Fauvism and Expressionism.
His painting transmits an impact of unusual sensations in our times. He does
almost all his painting in “plein air”, like the Symbolist painters of other times.

He is a restless non-conformist who is committed to ecology. Nature is the main subject of his work, especially plants and trees. He also paints urban subject matter as well as seascapes and rural landscapes.

Jordi Santacana is surprisingly acute in his use of colour, reminiscent
of the paintings of Vincent Van Gogh.

He has travelled to and painted in Mexico, the United States, Germany, Minorca, Paris,
Morocco and India.

He periodically exhibits in Barcelona and Vilanova.
