Giselle Monzón
Cuba, 1979
Visual artist, graphic designer, and illustrator, currently residing in Tampa, Florida.
She graduated in Graphic Design from the Instituto Superior de Diseño (Higher Institute of Design) in Havana. Throughout her career as a designer, she has collaborated with various Cuban institutions, such as the Center for the Development of Visual Arts and ICAIC (Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry), where she has created posters and other communication materials for exhibitions, films, and festivals. In line with the rich Cuban tradition, her posters are often produced using silkscreen printing. Currently, Giselle is primarily dedicated to design in the cultural field, both in Cuba and internationally. Her achievements include the prestigious Coral Award at the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema, as well as the first prize (in collaboration) in the cultural poster category at the Bolivia Poster Biennial 2015. Her commitment to creative collaboration is noteworthy. Giselle is part of the design group Nocturnal, where she and other colleagues/friends explore new frontiers between art and design. In 2024, she is part of the International Jury of the 18th BICM 2024 in Mexico.
