Josep Moscardó

Barcelona, 1953

Josep Moscardó’s work delves into the complexity of colour and light in both day and night atmospheres. True to nature, he shows us an optimistic vision of his surroundings and his travels. His painting, with certain Fauvist references, is expressive and communicative, understandable, open to the presence of both the human figure and the urban landscape. Josep Moscardó is one of the few artists who still paint from life today, capturing the poetry of the everyday. A restless and prolific sculptor, he bases his work on the synthesis of forms and the collage technique. His pieces are composed of found objects, playfully arranged. For many years, original graphic work has also been an important part of his creation. From 1998 to 2016, he was associated with La Palmera, an artistic screen-printing workshop. He exhibits periodically in Barcelona and Sant Cugat.
